KRAIBURG STRAIL once again receives silver award from EcoVadis

The Tittmoning-based company KRAIBURG STRAIL has been awarded the silver medal for sustainability by EcoVadis for 2023. EcoVadis conducts company ratings worldwide in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. STRAIL is in the top eleven per cent of companies assessed in the rail vehicle construction sector in the latest evaluation.

STRAIL has been working with EcoVadis since 2018 and has improved its sustainability performance every year since then. In 2023, the company is now making another significant leap upwards, increasing its score in all four assessment areas by more than ten points in some cases. “We are constantly working to improve and are very proud that we have now become even more sustainable as a company,” says Andreas Draak, Sustainability Manager at STRAIL. Especially measures in the area of sustainable procurement of raw materials such as the introduction of a sustainable code of conduct for suppliers and the further development of the waste management system have contributed to the improvement in the EcoVadis rating.

Sustainable products
STRAIL has always been on a highly sustainable path with its products. The base material for the level crossing and noise protection systems as well as the polymer sleepers are secondary raw materials such as vulcanised rubber compounds and polyolefins reinforced with fibres. In addition, production in Tittmoning is optimised so that it uses as little energy as possible and produces hardly any waste.
