Innovation Award for our Mini Sound Protection Wall

On 4 March 2019 we received the invitation to the presentation of the Innovation Award of the Bahn-Media Verlag in Hanover.
Our mini sound protection wall – STRAILastic_mSW – was nominated in the category “Driveways and Infrastructure” – but by whom?

At the InnoTrans 2018 trade fair, Prof. Dr. Höft from Brandenburg Technical University and publisher of the Privatbahn Magazin informed himself
about innovative products. The mini sound protection wall attracted great interest and, along with many other products, was proposed to a jury
of experts. The jury decided to include us in the final selection along with four other companies.

On Tuesday, 2 April 2019, the award ceremony took place as part of the Hannover Messe. Representatives from politics, the media and
well-known companies of the railway industry were present.

After the nominees in the category “Driveways and Infrastructure” were introduced, we were delighted to hear:
“And the award goes to: KRAIBURG STRAIL!”

The award was ceremoniously presented on stage. According to the expert jury, we “won by a wide margin”.
With this “landslide victory”, the trophy in hand and the confirmation that we have a “very innovative” product, we went home to Tittmoning.

Now we just have to find a worthy place for our prize…

AT A GLANCE

For Highest Demands > in 2015 was STRAIL FRANCE contacted to provide crossings for the operation on a mine site.

High axle loads, extreme climate condition, just a few characteristics our level crossings have to withstand at the mine.

COLAS RAIL France, experienced with the installation of STRAIL systems, was present in Guinea-Conakry to assist local teams. So no STRAIL technician was needed.

Due to the good work in advance, the installation was carried out smoothly, by end of 2018.

Everything works perfect until today and Colas is very pleased with their STRAIL level crossings.

The new railway line (344 km), which connecting the iron ore mine „Roy Hill“ with the harbour of Port Hedland (Western Australia) was finished in 2014.

On this railway line are heavily loaded crossings with traffic of road trains with a total weight of up to 150 t.

Added to this are extreme environmental conditions such as high UV radiation, high temperatures, sand, heavy loads and high speeds.

Therefore the client decided to use our STRAIL level crossing system.

AT A GLANCE

Every day, huge containers are loaded by gigantic harbour cranes at the port of Antwerp. They glide over the quay on a rail system.

The rails are located in concrete recesses of up to 55 cm, depending on the size of the crane.
These recesses allow the harbour cranes to move freely, but restrict them for all other vehicles.

STRAIL gap covers provide a relief here. They close the large gap, still guarantee access to the rail and enable people and cars to cross without problems or danger.
