STRAILastic as a brand of the KRAIBURG group has been producing systems for track damping since several years. Around 140 employees work at the headquarters in Tittmoning, Upper Bavaria, between Burghausen and Salzburg, near the Austrian border. The main focus is on the development and the production of the two product families STRAIL level crossing systems and STRAILastic track damping systems.
STRAILastic track damping systems reduce noise emission and vibrations at the rail. The track profiles rest on elastic rail base coverings or they are enclosed on three sides by different rubber or elastomer ele-ments. The aim is the damping of noise emission (solid-borne noise, air-borne noise) as well as the reduc-tion of the vibrations coming from the track profile when trains pass.
STRAILastic ensures a “gentle track”.
The main field of application of the STRAILastic family are tramway lines and city lines in residential areas and narrow quarters, at city roads or inside tunnels as well as the damping of tracks installed across steel bridges.
STRAILastic reduces the disturbance of residents and it protects the rails and surrounding build-ings from damage caused by vibrations. The components are reliable, durable and easy to install. Raw-materials are mostly natural rubber and recycled material gained from car tires and all components can be reused at the end of service life.
At the InnoTrans 2012 new versions of the STRAILastic_S and STRAILastic_A programmes have been presented and launched as well as the new series STRAILastic_W.
